The Blue Ridge Brutal is not for the faint hearted! The rides take you onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and over many hills. All these rides can be considered challenging to strenuous. However, you can mix the pain with the joy of riding through some of the most beautiful scenery in North Carolina which, we believe, makes these rides some of the most spectacular in this area. This ride tours Ashe and Alleghany counties and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Beginning and ending in front of the Ashe Civic Center, in the shadow of Mount Jefferson, the ride offers varied and challenging terrain. The Blue Ridge Brutal features three ride options: 57 miles, 75 miles and 100 miles, each with various elevation changes. The ride will be August 9 starting at 8:00AM and the cost is $55 prior to 6/30/14; $70 up to the event.
