Ashe County Fiddlers Convention!

There's a great little spot in the heart of the Appalachians, near the Blue Ridge Parkway to come enjoy some old time bluegrass music and fiddling. Ashe County's Bluegrass and Old Time Fiddlers Convention is held every year at Ashe County Park in Jefferson, NC. The dates for the 2014 event are Friday, August 1 from 5:00pm – 11:00pm and Saturday, August 2 11:00am – 11:00pm. The event is sponsored by the Ashe Arts Council.

Ashe County has a rich history in the roots of what eventually evolved into the current country music industry, and continues to raise up some of the best musicians in the nation.

While in the area for the Fiddlers Convention, take the opportunity to visit downtown Jefferson & West Jefferson! The jewel of downtown Jefferson is the newly restored 1904 Courthouse, home to the Museum of Ashe County history. Downtown West Jefferson is home of the Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center filled with brochures of things to do and see.
